A workplace emergency is an unforeseen situation that threatens your employees, customers, or the public; disrupts or shuts down your operations; or causes physical or environmental damage. Natural emergencies may include the following:
- Floods
- Hurricanes
- Tornadoes
Recently, Edgewater Maryland had a tornado that brought severe damage to several businesses. Was your business prepared?
“Disasters don’t wait. Make your plan today” is the theme for 2020’s National Preparedness Month.
September 13-19: Prepare for Disasters: Limit the impacts that disasters have on you and your business. Know the risk of disasters in your area and check your insurance coverage. Learn how to make your building stronger in the face of storms and other common hazards and act fast if you receive a local warning or alert.
