March can bring MOLD to your Edgewater Home
3/8/2018 (Permalink)
Our region is surrounded by beautiful waterways that sometimes creep into our homes or businesses. These types of water damages (if not dried correctly) and completely can leave moisture behind, allowing mold to grow. Whether it is water from a sprinkler, refrigerator, sump pump or the local river it is imperative to have it cleaned and dried by professionals. Our qualifications and our equipment can test moisture levels, and confirm dryness which is the key to preventing mold.
Should you find yourself suspecting you have mold because you see it or “smell” it, take caution. Breathing in mold spores may cause irritation.
What to Do:
- Stay out of affected areas
- Turn off the HVAC system and fans
- Contact SERVPRO of Edgewater/Deale-Churchton/Lothian at 410.867-3590
What Not to Do:
- Don’t touch or disturb the mold
- Don’t blow air across any surfaces with visible or suspected mold growth
- Don’t assume area is dry without having tested by a professional
This time of year rain (or snow) can leave residual moisture which is breading ground for mold. Keep vigilant to prevent major mold growth.
